The Dembowski Model United Nations (GliwiceDeMUN), held from November 29 to December 1, 2024, in Gliwice, Poland, offers a unique opportunity to engage in UN-style debates, develop critical skills, and meet like-minded peers.

What is GliwiceDeMUN?

GliwiceDeMUN is hosted by students of the 1st Bilingual High School in Gliwice. This annual MUN event is carefully organized to provide a professional and memorable experience for participants. With an expected attendance of 95 delegates, this intimate yet dynamic setting fosters engaging discussions on topics of global importance. The conference registration fee is set at PLN 150.00, ensuring an accessible entry to a high-quality MUN experience.

What to Expect at GliwiceDeMUN 2024

In this second edition of the Dembowski Model United Nations, students from across the globe will gather to participate in simulated United Nations committee debates. Delegates can choose from a wide range of topics and committees, including:

• Security Council – addressing pressing issues of international peace and security.
• United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime – discussing topics related to crime prevention and criminal justice.
• Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) – debating global economic and social development.
• Human Rights Council – examining international human rights concerns.
• Future Security Council – a creative, futuristic setting that allows for innovative problem-solving in an imagined world.

GliwiceDeMUN 2024 provides a well-rounded educational experience where delegates can refine skills in public speaking, negotiation, and collaborative problem-solving. The event is organized and facilitated by seasoned MUN participants who are committed to high standards of organization and diplomacy.

Eligibility and Application Information

High school students who are eager to expand their knowledge of international relations and develop practical skills are encouraged to apply.

• Chair Applications: Open from September 20 to October 18, 2024
• Delegate Applications: Open from October 21 to November 22, 2024

To secure a spot, participants are encouraged to pay the conference fee promptly, as only paid registrants will receive committee assignments.
